Testimonials

Adria JohnsonMetro United Way

“Without Catapulting Now, LLC Metro United Way would not be where it is today. Period. A few years ago, the organization made the decision to disrupt its historic way of investing in the community, with aspirations to invest in a manner that prioritizes greatest needs, addresses root causes, results in transformational outcomes, promotes equity, and supports the tenants of trust-based philanthropy. No small feat for an organization over 100 years old! Catapulting Now, LLC helped us navigate the uncomfortable waters that often come with a change of this magnitude, which also included doing the internal work necessary to truly operationalize equity and develop effective external practices and policies. With Catapulting Now, LLC’s assistance – specifically, its founder’s, Marta Miranda Straub’s, leadership – Metro United Way has been able to strengthen internal operations and transition from its historic investment model to one that is focused, gives access to organizations that historically have not benefitted from investment – including grassroots and BIPOC led, and includes strategies proven most effective in creating the greatest impact. Thank you, Marta and Catapulting Now, LLC!”

She and her team have been co-creators with our staff and board, coaching us into more inclusive and strategic ways of leading. “Marta is a dynamic leader who synthesizes wisdom from her years of professional experience to work with nonprofits to build organizational capacity and to increase the impact they are able to have for the communities they serve. I first met Marta in 2019 at a conference where she was one of our presenters, and I immediately knew then that we needed to ask her to guide my nonprofit through strategic planning. I am so happy I did. The passion and energy she brings to her work is captivating, both her professional and personal experience have been invaluable. She navigated our organization through a difficult transitional period. We would not have been able to do that without her and her team. I can't recommend her highly enough! ”

“My time working with Catapult as a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Metro United Way. Positioned our organization to go above and beyond exposing inequitable policies and practices that had been grandfathered in to the agency. We were able to examine the root causes of the inequitable practices by using an equity lens that allowed us to move from idea to execution in creating a more equitable work and community environmen”
